Disney cruise line was recently rated number 1 for mega-ship ocean cruises according to Travel + Leisure. Actually a couple of months ago, I took my first Disney Cruise onboard the Disney Magic.
As a frugal traveler I was taken aback the first time I heard the cost of the cruise. I thought, for that money I could spend a couple of weeks in Europe!
Did I tell you that I have a 4- year old? I am not a BIG Disney fan but I am a firm believer in trying something new and having a family vacation where everyone enjoys themselves. From character photo ops to the kids club to the poolside movies and the food and table service – I would say the three of us each had a great vacation.
My daughter’s favorite was the Oceaneer Kids Club, every night staff would pick them up from dinner and take them to play. My husband’s favorite was he visit to Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island. I do have to say that it was my favorite port because were no other people, everything was provided including a free barbecue on the beach. My favorite part was the gym and spa. You do have to exercise to work off all those Mickey ice cream bars!
So was it worth it? Yes, it was and we are planning another Disney Cruise in our future.j
