One of my recent guests from France told me about an interesting site she used called HelpX. It’s” an online listing of host organic farms, farmstays, homestays, ranches, lodges, B&B’s, backpackers hostels and even sailing boats who invite volunteer helpers to stay with them short-term in exchange for food and accommodation”. Guests work an average of 4 hours per day and they get a true cultural experience, along with free room and board. Every situation is different, the details are worked out between host and guest. Guests register for one of two memberships – Free or Premier. Premier costs 20 Euros for 2 years and with that you can see all listings, contact hosts and read reviews. Prospective hosts can list free with registration.
Sounds pretty interesting to me. Wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with this site? Thoughts?
Excellent post but I was wondering if you could write a litte more on this topic?
I’d be very grateful if you could elaborate a little bit more.
Thanks!
You talking about couchsurfing? I blog about it all the time. Do you have specific questions?
