How I Got a Full-Time Live in “Nanny” for 90 Days

December 30, 2015 by Laurie Deppa Leave a Comment

As a busy mom of a 4-year old I am constantly trying to find good help to watch my daughter.  One of the reasons I write this blog is to show how I am making contacts around the world and living a frugal but VERY REWARDING life!

Ellie and friend in Chinchilla

I spent a month in Spain this fall and asked the people I was staying with if they had any close friends of relatives who might want to come to the US for 3 months.  We came up with a deal that we would pay airfare, give free room and board and a stipend.  In return our guest would help take care of Ellie for that time.

We are very excited that Alba, a very good friend of our Spanish (host and guest) is arriving Feb 1st!

There is so much more than just financial reward that we get from our travels!  Ellie will get a good caregiver, she will greatly improve her Spanish and we will too!
