I got an email from Jessica not long ago asking if she and 5 others could stay the weekend. Normally it wouldn’t be a problem but I was preparing to leave the house for Navy graduation rental. Jessica sent me a link to her own blog – jessicafischbach.theworldrace.org. After I read that I couldn’t say no. They were “missionaries” on an 11-month, 11-country tour to serve those most in need around the world. I was amazed and in awe. I changed my mind and invited them to stay. If they could sleep on floor of mud huts and eat bugs, I could get my house ready in one day for rental.
Jess and two of her friends from The World Race came with their husbands for a wedding in Annapolis. Jess also brought along her darling little boy Abe, who I believe was adopted by her husband on a trip abroad. My daughter was really excited to have a playmate.
We did squeeze in some time to chat and I knew that I would really like them. I did. They came from across the country and said if I ever wanted to come to Florida or Indiana, we are welcome.
I took a photo and my daughter Ellie and our little guest Abe – as we took the shot Abe reached an arm behind Ellie :-). Think she made a new friend.
