As we (my 4 year old daughter and I) prepare to depart for a 5-week journey through Spain and Morocco, I am going through my lists over and over. I decided to bring most of my daughter’s clothes that I want to get rid of anyway. She is growing quickly and by next summer will not fit in them. At the end of the trip I will leave them with our final Spanish host family. Their daughter is one year younger – perfect!
I think I did a pretty good job myself. I am bringing a few gifts for my hosts then, I will have space for souvenirs when I give them away! I don’t really have many clothes to leave behind as I am the anti-hoarder and donate or consign constantly. I think I am doing well with one mid-size suitcase.
The only thing I can’t really live with out is my orthopedic pillow. Having had neck surgery, nothing worse than having a really bad pillow. It will even fit in my suitcase if I want to carry it.
I have decided to bring a folding umbrella stroller even though I love the larger one with all its bells and whistles. Even though she is 4 and getting big, lots of walking through countries will probably wear us both out!
We each have 1 suitcase and 1 carry on! Not bad ;-).
